Electrical Contemporaneous Review
The State of Colorado mandates that all Inspecting Entities performing their own Electrical Inspections post a standard procedure for conducting electrical contemporaneous reviews pursuant to Colorado Revised Statues, sections 12-23-116(1)a and (10) to ensure compliance with state electrical licensing and apprentice ratio laws.

Plumbing Contemporaneous Review
The State of Colorado mandates that all Inspecting Entities performing their own Plumbing Inspections post a standard procedure for conducting plumbing contemporaneous reviews pursuant to HB19-1086 to ensure compliance with state plumbing licensing and apprentice ratio laws.

Contractors - For your convenience, you can now submit all renewed Insurance Certificates, signed State Master and Contractor licenses and any change of address by contacting Community Development Department (CDD).
Duties of the Division
The Teller County Building Division is responsible for regulating building activities to ensure that residential and commercial structures comply with applicable building codes. The Building Division issues Permits and Inspects all Land/Property located within unincorporated Teller County.
Cripple Creek, Victor and Woodland Park all have their own Building Departments for issuing permits/inspections within their jurisdictions.
The Board of Review assists the Building Division by issuing Contractor Licenses, reviewing complaints against contractors, considering requests for variances to the Universal Building Code, and mediating disputes between contractors, citizens, and the Building Division. The Board of Review, which is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, is comprised of nine volunteers from the local construction industry. They meet once each month.

Building Code Questions

Building Inspectors are available to answer Building Code questions from 7:30 am to 8:30 am Monday through Friday at our offices or by phone at 719-687-3048.
The Plans Examiner is available to answer Building Code questions from 7:30 am to 10 am Monday through Friday at our offices and available by appointment the remainder of the day. Please call in advance to schedule an appointment at 719-686-5405.
