Teller County Commissioners were honored today to accompany Don Bartron and John Bartlett, purple heart recipients, Vietnam Veterans, and Teller County residents to the State Capitol in Denver.  A resolution introduced by Senator Mark Baisley designating HWY 24 and HWY 67 as part of the Purple Heart Trail was approved unanimously by all State Senators.  Each Senator stood, voted in support and faced our Veterans in honored support.

Carl Andersen and Ross Herzog were also present in support.  Teller County passed a resolution last year making it a Purple Heart County and Woodland Park and Victor have been designated Purple Heart Communities.  Cripple Creek will be designated a Purple Heart Community on 21 February.  State approval was needed to designate the two state highways that pass through Teller County.   In the very near future, large Purple Heart Highway signs will be erected as a result of today’s vote of support in the Capitol.  Teller County is proud to show its support to all of our Veterans and their families.
