Teller County Commissioners Support HB 24-1128

News Placeholder

The Teller County Commissioners support HB 24-1128, a bill that will reverse recent laws that have limited the ability of local law enforcement to communicate and cooperate with federal officials regarding the immigration status of persons in our State. These sanctuary policies have attracted increasing numbers of migrants to our State and local communities and have limited the ability of local law enforcement to preserve and protect the peace in our communities. Repealing these sanctuary policies is a commonsense approach to allow our state and local law enforcement officers to communicate and cooperate with their federal law enforcement officers to help Colorado and the federal government manage the impacts of our broken federal immigration system. We urge other County Commissioners, regardless of party affiliation, to support this nonpartisan bill.
