CORA Requests

Teller County is committed to providing public access to records in accordance with the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA), C.R.S. § 24-72-201 et seq.

Please note: CORA requests do not include Criminal Justice Records. If you are seeking criminal justice records, please use the Criminal Justice Records Act Request Form


To request public records under CORA, please use the CORA Request Form. A fillable version of this form is also available at the bottom of this page.

  • Who may request: Any member of the public may request access to public records.

  • How to request: All requests must be formally submitted through the County’s CORA request form or by contacting the County Administrator’s Office.

  • Response time: The County will respond within 3 business days of receiving a request. In special circumstances, this may be extended up to 7 business days, with written notice.

  • Inspection hours: Records are generally available for inspection Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m., excluding holidays or closures.

  • Fees:

    • First 10 pages of standard copies are free; $0.25 per page thereafter.

    • Research/retrieval time: First hour free; $30 per hour after.

    • Advance deposits may be required for requests involving significant staff time.
