[ARCHIVED] TELLER COUNTY WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM MDT SUNDAY

Winter Storm Warning

  • WHAT...HEAVY SNOW EXPECTED. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO 14 INCHES.
  • WHERE...PIKES PEAK, TELLER COUNTY AND THE RAMPART RANGE ABOVE 7500 FEET.
  • WHEN...FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM MDT SUNDAY.
  • IMPACTS...TRAVEL COULD BE VERY DIFFICULT TO IMPOSSIBLE. THE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS COULD IMPACT THE EVENING COMMUTE.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS...SEVERAL ROUNDS OF SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THE HEAVIEST FALLING LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Be prepared to adjust or delay travel plans until conditions improve. Driving: Keep it slow and leave distance between vehicles. Power Outage: Be careful with heat sources, practice portable generator safety, and check on neighbors. Shoveling: Dress warmly, stay hydrated, move only small amounts of snow, don’t lift and if you must use your knees, and take frequent breaks.
