Teller County Public Health and Environment has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for Wildland Fire Smoke
Issued Saturday, Sept 6, 2025
The smoke in the area is from wildland fires burning in multiple locations throughout the state. There are currently no local wildfires in Teller County.
Recommendations: If smoke is visibly thick or becomes dense in your neighborhood or subdivision, it is advisable to remain indoors. This is particularly important for individuals with heart or respiratory conditions, respiratory illnesses, young children, older adults, and those who are pregnant.
Limit outdoor activities when moderate to heavy smoke is present. If smoke enters your home and causes symptoms or discomfort, consider relocating temporarily to a cleaner air environment.
As a general guideline, if visibility is reduced to less than five miles due to smoke in your area, air quality has likely reached unhealthy levels.
