Undersheriff Bishop oversees the general operations of the Teller County Sheriff's Office.
Undersheriff Stan Bishop has lived in the Cripple Creek area of Teller County since 1980. He has been married to his wife Debbie for over 43 years. They have a son, whom they raised in the Cripple Creek Area. Their son is married and has three children.
Stan started his Law Enforcement career in 1981 as a reserve with the Cripple Creek Police Department and went to work for Teller County Sheriff’s Office in the Jail in Cripple Creek. In 1983, he went to work with Cripple Creek Police Department where he was Chief of Police for his last 1 ½ years with them. On January 1, 1987, he went back to work with Teller County Sheriff’s Office and has held the position of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Commander and Undersheriff. During these years of service, he has received numerous commendations and awards, along with training. Stan has 39 years of Law Enforcement experience in Teller County.
